The Children's Family Award

In 2012, 2013, and 2014, I got the honor to paint The Children's Family Award to respectively Jane Thoning Callesen, Ole Henrik Hansen and Knud Romer. The Children's Family Award is assigned by the association SAMFO to persons who make a special effort in the work to strengthen the circumstances of families with children and in particular those who in a period opt out of the institutional life.

The Children's Family Award 2012

In 2012 Jane Thoning Callesen received the Children's Family Award after having written the book " A gentle start- for you and your child." She shares her perspective on how to strengthen the relationship between child and parent through a special kind of care. She received a lot of attention from the media..

The Children's Family Award 2014

Knud Romer received the Children's Family Award in 2014 for questioning the Danish institutionalization of children and elderly, and for starting a debate about the subject. He openheartedly shared his own experience of his father's last days in hospital and how inhuman it was. The painting shows the relationship between father and child.

The Children's Family Award 2013

The Children's Family Award 2013 was given to Ole Henrik Hansen for his PHD " Voices in the community." It had a lot of attention in the media and raised a debate about the conditions for children in the Danish nursery homes.
